I’ve gone through several different cat water fountains that didn’t last too long, or just didn’t have a good filter.
This one seems to be a keeper. It came with 3 filters, which I’m supposed to change every 6 weeks. My previous water fountains had very iffy filters that had to be changed every 2 weeks.
In addition to the filter, this water fountain has two small “foam filters” which are really meant to just prevent solid debris from getting into the filter. Those still have to be changed every 2 weeks, although they are cheap enough I might replace them once a week when I change the water.
My unit came with two trays. One made of plastic matching the base, and another made of stainless steel. I was scratching my head until i realized I had to choose one or the other. I went with the stainless steel tray.
The water flow is good, powered by a USB cable like my pervious water fountains.
The container is large enough for a cat to last a week and still have extra. However, I always wash/replace the water once a week keep my cat happy.
NOTE: My box came without the sponge filters. Luckily I already had those filters (shown). I am sure the vendor would have resolved it in a jiffy. These filters are available on amazon in package of 6 from the vendor.
UPDATE: My wife reports that “it makes a noise”. As far as I can tell, she hears the motor that runs the water through the very strong filter. To me it sounds like I guess an aquarium would sound. But my wife can hear a mosquito making a ruckus out in the patio. So. If silence is golden to you, you may want to reconsider. But I could only hear it by putting my ear right next to it. I did not consider this enough to take off a star.

I really like the idea of having a really good filtered fountain, especially having multiple pets (2 cats and 1 dog) so I ordered this fountain. The pros of this item: It is a small unit that won’t take up much space, there are 2 trays included (1 stainless steel and 1 plastic), it comes with 3 ultra filtration filters, and a set of sponge filters, and it is very quiet. I also like that it can be powered with a USB cable. Furthermore, because the water tank is separate you do not have to clean the water pump.
The cons: The instructions were not very clear regarding set up. There was a QR code on the box, but it took you to a YouTube video that described how to reset the red light. It would have been much more helpful to also have a QR code to demonstrate how to set up the fountain, especially since it came with both a Stainless steel tray and a Plastic tray. I was a little confused because I thought this plastic tray was supposed to go underneath the stainless steel tray but it did not fit. Only after reading the directions numerous times and looking at the photos on the box, did I realize the trays were not to be used together, but were 2 separate options. Although this seemed like a nice bonus, the reason I was confused was because my vet has always said to try and avoid using plastic bowls for my pets because they breed bacteria, subsequently recommending I only use stainless steel. As such, I just presumed that the maker of a triple filtered water fountain would also have realized having a plastic tray was not an ideal offering. The other major issue I have with this fountain is that although they give you 3 of the ultra filters, they only give you 1 round sponge and 1 rectangular sponge filter. It would have been nice if they had provided more than 1 of each sponge, or if the instruction manual or the box listed the additional filters that could be purchased. I wanted to buy more sponges right away so I did not have to deal with not having clean sponges since the instructions did not say how long they could be used safely. I had to go to the Furbulous website and there it said this fountain was currently “unavailable.” I was a little nervous that this model was discontinued, however, on the Amazon site the fountain is still available. I finally found the sponges and filters that fit this model. I am hopeful that after spending an additional $30 for more filters and sponges that this unit will last as it was not cheap.

Moving from a standard water bowl to the Furbulous Automatic Water Dispenser has been a significant change for my household. While it’s certainly more of an investment than a simple bowl, the time saved and the quality of the water make it a great value in the long run.
The “Learning Curve”
If you have a hesitant pet, don’t be discouraged! It took my dog a little bit of time to figure out how to use it, but once she did, she absolutely loved it. The flow is consistent and once they realize it’s a constant source of fresh water, they settle right in.
Time-Saving & Convenience
The biggest “pro” for me as an owner is the maintenance.
Less Refilling: With a 3.3L capacity, I’m refilling the bowl much less often than before.
Less Washing: Because of the ultrafiltration and the constant movement, the water stays “fresh” longer, meaning I don’t have to scrub out a slimy bowl every single day.
Quality Build & Value
316 Stainless Steel: I really appreciate the use of high-grade stainless steel. It feels much cleaner than plastic and is far more durable.
Filter Bonus: This kit comes with 3 filters, which adds a lot of value right out of the box. You won’t have to worry about buying replacements for a while.
The Price Point: Is it more expensive than a regular bowl? Yes. But compared to other high-tech fountains on the market, the build quality and the “True Clean” tech make this a much better value than its competitors.
Final Verdict:
This is a robust, well-engineered fountain that actually makes life easier for the owner while providing cleaner water for the pet. It looks sleek in black and feels like it’s built to last. If you’re tired of the constant “fill and scrub” cycle of a standard bowl, this is a fantastic upgrade.

This is a solid automatic water dispenser that does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It continuously filters the water through a carbon filter, and it does a genuinely good job of keeping the water clean and fresh. You can actually see the difference when you clean it out, which makes it feel like the filtration isn’t just marketing fluff.
The capacity is decent, but probably best suited for two dogs or a couple of cats. We’ve got a few more than that, so we end up refilling it fairly often. Not a dealbreaker, just something to be aware of. My bigger gripe is cleaning. You do have to take it apart to clean it properly, and while that’s not difficult, it’s a little more effort than I’d ideally want for something that needs regular maintenance. As an example, you have to take the pour spout piece off the top to remove and clean the metal tray, which usually has quite a bit of gunk in it. That pour spout is a bit of a bear to remove – I end up using a knife or screwdriver to pry it off.
That said, there are a lot of things this gets right. It’s whisper-quiet. You genuinely don’t hear it running at all. The status light on the side is excellent. Green when it has water, red when it doesn’t. Bright enough to notice at a glance without being annoying. That single feature alone makes it incredibly easy to stay on top of refills and cleaning, and it’s probably my favorite part of the design.
It runs on USB-C, which I really appreciate. It comes with a power supply, but the fact that it’s standard means replacements are easy. I’m not thrilled that the filter is cartridge-based, but that’s the tradeoff for how clean the water stays. Overall, this is a very good product. If cleaning were a little simpler, it would be an easy five stars.

Great product, though my cats are skittish of most new items

It is so loud i cant concentrate. I’ve only had it for 1 day and im already thinking of returning it. I placed it far from me and i can still hear it. It should not be this expensive for something that doesnt seem like a finish product. My cats are scared of the noise it makes and have not drank water from it. If the noise continues scaring them from drinking water for the rest of the week, ill be returning it.

This is the second water filter type water bowl I’ve used for my dog. I’m not convinced they’re worthwhile. They do filter out some of the stuff that your dog might drop in it from their whiskers, but not all of it. The size of this one really doesn’t hold much more than any decent size watering bowl which I feel is easier to just empty and refill every day. This requires multiple filters which requires ongoing costs. It also requires electric electricity, another cost. It would be the same as giving your dog a great big bowl of water and just running a skimmer across it every night. Then you could just keep adding water to the bowl. Same difference. But I actually prefer to dip out any water my dog hasn’t drank by the end of the night and refresh it. It’s a lot less work than trying to clean up and clean out the tank every week or two, depending on how hard your water is. Also, I don’t like hearing it run. It’s relatively quiet but it can still be heard easily in the room. I suppose it does what it’s intended to for the most part.
But overall I feel like it’s too much cost, upkeep & upkeep costs to make it worthwhile. Also, it’s very small so really wouldn’t be worthwhile unless you’ve got a 10 pound or less pet. But even if you do, I just felt it was way too much work, cost and noise to make it worth getting at all.

My cats are very picky about their water, but they took to this fountain immediately. It is virtually silent—I can only hear a very faint trickle if the room is completely quiet. I love the addition of the UV feature for that extra layer of cleanliness. It’s easy to take apart for cleaning, and the sleek design looks great in the kitchen.

I’ve been through my fair share of pet water fountains, but the Furbulous Cube Pet Fountain genuinely stands out—and not just because it’s quiet (though that’s a welcome bonus). If you have cats who prefer dry food, you already know how important it is to keep them well-hydrated to avoid kidney issues. My cats are exactly like that, and they’re always drawn to running water, so a reliable fountain is non-negotiable.
First, assembly and disassembly for cleaning is basically instant. Everything snaps in place. The water capacity is impressive. I’m not constantly refilling it, which is a relief when you have multiple cats or a busy schedule. The stainless steel tray is another highlight: it’s durable, hygienic, and easy to clean compared to plastic alternatives that tend to get slimy or scratched over time. The absence of lights isn’t a problem for me, but it’s worth noting if you want a lit fountain for nighttime visibility.
What really sets this fountain apart is the design of the filter system. The filter sits inside the reservoir, so water flows out of the filter and into the tray. My previous fountain had the filter under the tray, and if it got blocked with hair or algae, the whole thing would overflow—water everywhere until the pump ran dry. With the Furbulous, there’s no way for an obstruction to cause that kind of mess. If you’ve ever dealt with a flood from a pet fountain, you’ll know what a relief this is.
It’s quiet, functional, and genuinely solves the pain points I’ve had with other models. The water always feels fresh, and my cats drink more because they’re curious about the moving water. If you care about your cat’s health and want to avoid the kidney problems that can come from dehydration, this is honestly a must-have. I’d give it more than five stars if I could.
