The FURBULOUS Cube sponge filters work great for our kitten fountains—keeping water clean and fresh! Getting 6 for the price was a solid value, but with a herd of kittens, they’ll need replacing every 1-2 weeks (not a month). Durable enough for daily use, though they wear down faster under heavy traffic. Easy to swap out, but budget for frequent swaps. A cost-effective solution, just plan ahead!

This packages comes with six each of two of the filters required for the Furbulous fountain. These two are used on the main water section. The circular one goes in the bottom round inlet and the long one goes into the filter basket of the water tray. Both filters are very easy to install and should be replaced every two weeks to ensure the water remains clean and clear. It is also the time that the water needs to be changed, the main water tank and tray should be cleaned. By maintaining these two things, the main filter in the electronic tower side will not need to be changed for upwards of three months and this is the more expensive filter. To remove the long thin filter I use tweezers as fingers do not fit in the space and it is necessary to push the filter down to the end of the filter basket. Tweezers makes it a breeze to take the old wet one out and to push the new dry one in. Just my two cents. The cost for this package of 12 filters (six of the round and six of the long) is very reasonable and certainly is essential in keeping this fountain clean and working in optimal condition. My cats love this fountain as do I as it is so easy to take apart and there are only four main pieces plus the filters, it makes almost no sound, holds a great deal of water, and functions perfectly. I’ve been through at least eight fountains with my many cats and this one has been my favorite for the reasons I’ve listed above.

I LOVE my Furbulous Cube water dispenser! It’s incredibly easy to clean each week, and changing the sponge filters every two weeks is a breeze.
At the end of the second week, after I’ve cleaned the water dispenser, I just pop the middle out of the round sponge filter (so it becomes a doughnut shape) and place the open center onto the small post at the bottom. The long skinny filter fits into the plastic piece that attaches under the water tray. That’s it—filters changed, easy peasy!
(Note: There’s also another filter that should be changed every 45 days, but that one’s even easier to replace than the sponge filters.)
As of October 2025, a 6-pack of the sponge filters (enough for about 3 months) costs $9.99. Along with the cost of the 45-day filter, the total for roughly 3 months of filtration is currently $39.98 before tax—just under $10 a month. Totally worth it for something that encourages my cats to drink more water and keeps it clean.
I noticed one reviewer mention they didn’t receive the correct number of filters. I’ve ordered three packs so far, and each time I received 6 of each: 6 round and 6 skinny sponge filters. Another reviewer said a filter broke when trying to install it but I haven’t had that issue at all.
If you’re reading this and don’t already own the Furbulous Cube, I highly recommend it. Like I said, it’s super easy to clean and the filters are easy to change, but it also works great! It’s completely silent, holds plenty of water (so no constant refilling), and I haven’t experienced any leaks. Definitely one of the best things I’ve bought on Amazon.
(For full transparency: I received the filters through Amazon’s Vine program, but I paid for the Cube myself.)

These filters are customized for the Furbulous automatic water dispenser. You need these specifically for that fountain. (Which I have and reviewed btw) This fountain works great, but without these filters, it will not work optimally as it should. They are essential for the best performance. They filter out the small hairs from your cat’s fur, that you normally wouldn’t be able to do if they were drinking out of a bowl. You would be amazed at what these filters catch to keep your cats water healthy and clean. You can’t beat the price for this 6 pack 2 piece sponge filter. They keep the water clean and the fountain running well so it will last you for years to come.

I inserted the filter in the appropriate location, opened the fountain, verified that it was lying flat, and then reassembled everything. It became a straightforward, instinctive part of my cleaning routine by the time I had changed it the second time. I moved carefully the first time I did it to make sure that it was positioned properly. From the perspective of a customer, I like the fact that I am able to substitute a filter in a matter of seconds without requiring any equipment or complex procedures. The length of time that the water remains optically clean is the most significant alteration that I saw. These filters were created to prevent the accumulation of dust and minute strands of hair on the surface. The filters were particularly necessary for households with two cats that like playing in and around the water stream. The fountain maintains the appearance of cleaner water for a longer period of time when the filters are installed. When I walk by and take a quick look at the bowl, the majority of the time I see a smooth surface rather than floating particles, and this observation makes the whole arrangement seem more refreshing over the course of the day. During the weekly maintenance, the majority of the visible fur and bigger specks are collected in the vicinity of the filter, whilst the pump region and corners need less washing. That may seem like a minor thing, but over the course of time, it significantly cuts down on the frequency with which I feel the want to carry out a thorough cleaning session. The focus shifts from addressing substantial accumulation to giving a rapid rinse and wipe after the operation is completed.

These foam filters are very flimsy, but to call them filters is a bit misleading.
The Furbulous water fountain comes with a really nice water filter that gets replaced every 6 weeks.
These sponge filters are just filters that sit in other areas of the water fountain to prevent solids from flowing into the system. So they are not the real filters.
It says to replace the sponge filters every 2 weeks. I recommend you at least remove them and rinse/wash them once a week when you refresh the water. They are a bit flimsy, so they sometimes break them trying to wash them, specially the round one that goes in the water intake. I am sometimes tempted to leave that one out.

Pets love it! Easy to maintain and self filters.

These replacement filters have been working really well for our fountain. They fit properly and seem to do a great job keeping the water clean and clear. I haven’t noticed any buildup or debris getting through, and the water stays fresher longer.
Most importantly, I’ve noticed my cats are drinking water pretty frequently since using them, which tells me they like it and the water tastes fresh to them. That alone makes it worth it. I’ll definitely keep repurchasing.

This 6-pack of foam filters is the perfect consumable for keeping our Furbulous water fountain running cleanly and efficiently. The filters fit precisely and are incredibly easy to swap out during our weekly fountain cleaning routine. They do a great job of catching hair, food bits, and debris before it can reach the pump, which helps extend the life of the more expensive carbon filter and keeps the water visibly cleaner for our pets. The six-pack offers fantastic value and ensures we never run out, making regular maintenance hassle-free. For a simple, effective product that plays a key role in maintaining our pets’ hydration station, this is an excellent value.
