Hasn’t worked. Still running around like absolute loons at ungodly hours fighting. No change.

This calming diffuser has made such a difference for my cats! It really helps reduce their stress and tension. My cats are noticeably calmer, less anxious, and not fighting or scratching like before. Super easy to use, and I love that it comes with four refills so it lasts a long time. The scent is gentle and not overpowering. Highly recommend for multi-cat households or anxious pets!

Cats.
Are.
CRAZY.
We have 3 inside cats, aged 12, 9, and 2. The 2 year old is a terror. (maybe you can relate…even if you aren’t a cat parent.) She wants to play, while our 2 senior cats are a lot more interested in sleeping, snacking, sleeping, and sleeping…except when WE are sleeping. We both work full time jobs, so our youngest is home alone with the two older cats a lot.
and while the seniors will sometimes gently play with one another, they are fed up with the ‘baby’ and her rough-housing shenanigans…to the point where they now hiss (and more upsetting, growl) whenever they see the youngest.
I had tried a pheromone diffuser years ago, as in his youth our oldest cat spent one traumatic night outside after running out an open door and has been skittish ever since, but it did not have any noticeable effect. I figured I might as well give it another shot, as I’m not sure what else I can do to get our rambunctious rapscallion baby cat to just CHILL OUT.
On a side note, I didn’t realize that the diffuser looked like a cartoon chicken until I cropped the last picture included with this review.
I plugged this in after taking the pictures attached to this review (a blue LED light glows when the unit is activated, which is achieved by pressing the “beak”) then made and ate dinner. and in the 3 hours since I plugged it in, I haven’t heard ANYTHING out of any of the cats.
I can’t say for certain that this diffuser is already having an effect–cats are CRAZY and don’t really follow generally accepted concepts like logic and reason–but the evidence speaks for itself.
We shall see if the effect continues, and i am super hopeful that it does. Cats are much more pleasant companion animals when they aren’t constantly screaming at each other.
I will update in the future with more information about effectiveness and longevity.

My son adopted his first cat Earl about a year and a half ago. The shelter he was adopted from said Earl was kind of a bully and harassed the other kitties. No worries, Earl is going to be an “only cat”, or so we thought. Thirteen months after adopting Earl, my son fell in love with another cat, a five month old kitten he has named Crab Man. Oh boy….
Immediately Earl objected to Crab Man being in his space. Hissing, swatting, growling and it was all coming from Earl. This went on for a few days and it looked like Earl was simply not going to accept a new sibling. We needed a solution and fast! A friend who has multiple cats recommended a calming collar and gave us one from her supply. Wow! In less than an hour, the hissing, swatting and growling stopped. After a few days of this truce, Earl actually became interested in Crab Man and started approaching him in a curious, not aggressive manner. Within a couple weeks, they became best friends and are now inseparable. They sleep next to each other and romp and play. There really is something to these Cat Pheromone things and they made all the difference for my son’s cats. The problem with the collars is that they are not breakaway and my son was nervous about Earl hurting himself by using a collar that doesn’t break away. Cats are curious and get into everything and I think that is a very valid concern so we started looking around for a different solution, which is how we came across this Havenfly Cat Calming Pheromone Diffuser Set. It is supposed to work along the same lines as the collar, but with less risk because it doesn’t have to hang around the kitty’s neck.
With this kit you get one plug in diffuser and 4 refill bottles of solution. Setup is easy, just unscrew the top from the bottle and screw it into the bottom of the diffuser, plug it into the wall and you are good. It looks kind of like a duck’s face and when you press on the duck’s bill, a light goes on or off. Because there is absolutely no smell to humans, I am not sure if the light going on turns the diffuser on or if it’s just a nightlight that is optional. The directions on the side of the box don’t address this, so we just kept it on.
It’s been plugged in for almost a week now and both cats are calm, happy and playful so I think it does work as well as the collars do, but without the risk of injury that a non breakaway collar poses. Having a peaceful environment with two happy kitties is priceless, and for the low cost of this diffuser set, we think it’s a great value.

I’ve been using this cat calming set for a few weeks now to help my resident cat adjust to a new foster, and the results have been genuinely impressive. My cat is naturally quite anxious and prone to “stress-scratching” the sofa whenever something in the house changes. Within about 48 hours of plugging this in, I noticed a significant decrease in his hiding and a much more relaxed posture when he’s in the same room as the new cat.
The value in this kit is fantastic; getting four refills along with the diffuser is a huge plus, especially since most name brands only give you one. The pheromones are completely odorless to me, which I appreciate, and they don’t seem to leave any oily residue on the walls or nearby furniture. It’s a very simple “plug and forget” solution that has made our multi-cat introduction much smoother than previous attempts. 👍
However, I’m sticking with 4 stars because of the diffuser unit itself. Like many of these plug-ins, it gets quite warm to the touch. While the instructions say this is normal to help disperse the oil, it makes me a little nervous to leave it plugged in 24/7 without checking on it regularly. I also found that the refills seem to go a bit faster than the advertised 30 days if you have it in a room with a lot of airflow, so you’ll want to keep an eye on the liquid levels.
For anyone wondering about coverage, it seems to handle my medium-sized living room (about 500 sq ft) just fine. It isn’t a “cure-all” for deep behavioral issues, but as a tool to take the edge off a stressed cat, it’s a solid, budget-friendly alternative to the more expensive brands. 😊

I haven’t noticed any difference with my cats. I will update if anything changes. I am pretty particular about decor in my house, and didn’t realize this looks like a duck, so be mindful of that.
