I’ve only used this once so far. My dog goes thru periods of itchy skin where she does a lot of scratching. I use a sulfur based shampoo on her and I noticed there was some improvement so why not try this which is stronger. Well, this has worked even better for her. It calmed the itching nicely and she seemed to be pretty relieved and was able to relax a little. She does not have mange or any dermatitis so I can’t speak to it’s effectiveness for those issues. It is a little stinky because, well…sulfur is stinky. The smell does fade after awile.

There are several precautions listed on the label. This stuff is strong. Do yourself a favor and read them as well as all the directions. It’s relatively safe if you do so.

It’s a good size bottle and needs to be diluted so it should last me a long time especially since she hasn’t had a reoccurence.

Easily took care of two mild spots of ringworm on a foster kittenโ€™s paw and ear with just one bath (and I imagine it would also help with more severe cases with a few more treatments) and stopped the fungus from spreading to any of the other cats (or humans) in the household, so Iโ€™d say itโ€™s great quality and effective. It helped a lot with her itchiness too. Of course it smells very very bad (itโ€™s sulfurated lime, after all) and it will stain white fur/markings bright yellow (the yellow stains come out if you bathe them with regular cat shampoo once the ringworm is gone). This product is also a great value, itโ€™s a concentrate so you just add a little bit to a bucket of water and we barely made a dent in it bathing this kitten (the bottle is quite large), so if you have multiple cats with ringworm, this is a good option. The liquid itself is easy enough to use, just measure and dump into a bucket of warm water and mix โ€” you can either dunk the animal into the bucket (not the easiest with cats, haha, thankfully this little kitty is a good girl!) or take a sponge/towel and rub it on the affected spots (for her i did both just to make sure to get rid of it all, and gently and carefully used a rag with solution on it to clean the spot on her ear). I foster cats and kittens so Iโ€™m glad I will now have this on hand in case I get another foster with ringworm. Definitely recommend for cats/kittens and I imagine it would work well for the other animals itโ€™s approved for (especially if you run a rescue, foster, or just live in an area where itโ€™s common!)

Small dog had something crazy going on with it’s skin, started losing its fur and it almost looked like mange. We used this dip, I just gloved us and scooped it onto the dog outside and rubbed it into her skin… worked like a charm after 1 treatment. It killed off whatever was plaguing her, she stopped itching, fur grew back and she was 100% good to go. Extremely happy with the results.

  4. R.G.

I bought this dip after my goats I suspected mites and after other treatments I turned to this as it was recommended by breeders and Iโ€™m really glad I did. Saw instant results, the scratching slowed, patches of fur stopped falling out, and skin irritation visibly calmed. By the second or third dip, things looked almost back to normal.

    What I liked

Effective relief: It cleared up itching, mange-type symptoms, and skin irritation โ€” even when other shampoos or treatments had failed.

Works for different pets: the dip is labeled safe (when diluted properly) for even kittens/puppies.

Concentrated and economical: You only need a small amount (diluted per instructions) to treat the full body โ€” so one bottle goes quite far.

    What to be aware of

Strong smell: The sulfur scent is very noticeable โ€” youโ€™ll want to dip your pet outside or in a well-ventilated area. I found it unpleasant, and pets might not like it either.

Staining & mess: The dip can temporarily stain light-colored fur (or surfaces), and cleanup needs care โ€” gloves, old towels/clothes, and a spot you donโ€™t mind getting messy.

Need to follow directions exactly: Over-dilution (or under-dilution) or improper rinsing or drying might reduce effectiveness or irritate skin โ€” so measure carefully, use fresh solution each time, and keep pets from licking until fully dry.

Overall: If your pet is suffering from persistent itching, mange-like conditions, dermatitis, or fur loss related to skin problems โ€” and other milder treatments havenโ€™t worked โ€” this dip is worth trying. Itโ€™s not pretty (strong smell, a bit messy), but it gets the job done. Iโ€™d give it 4/5 stars: excellent results, but the odor + fussiness keeps it from being perfect.

This was the only thing I found to work on mites in my small goat herd. It DOES SMELL AWFUL… but works effectively. I just mix it in a spray bottle & apply to affected area on animal. I use it for livestock. I think it would be pretty awful to have to use it for a cat or dog that cohabitates your living space. They would have to be bathed several times to get rid of the fart/egg/sulphur smell after treatment… but you do whatever you have to in order to rid mites.

It works well however does have a smell to it. We used on ringworm for foster kittens

Yes, it does smell of sulphur. BUT, I’ve found it invaluable in treating stubborn skin issues in dogs. I start with twice weekly applications and when I am confident the issue is resolving I drop it to weekly to ensure any residual infection is completely eliminated. I tend to ‘spot’ treat problem areas rather than the whole dogs but recommend making sure solutuon is applied generously around those areas – to make sure the infection can’t spread. Also, I apply this immediately before walking my dog (stops them licking the solution off, and by the time we are back home they’ve forgotten about it). Just make sure to place all cloths, paper towels, etc used in a sealed bag to dispose of, in order to combat the sulphurous odour.
This is my go-to home treatment for red, inflamed, balding, spots on my dogs.

Our black labrador retriever constantly has fungus infections between the pads of his feet, resulting in vet trips to obtain meds several times a year. Well, this Lime-Sulfur Dip seems to putting a stop to his infections. With spring & fall being the most common times for problems, we thought we’d give this stuff a try, and holy cow, it seems to work. His itching & licking has nearly stopped, and he’s no longer chewing his paws.

What we’ve learned is there is a some odor when mixing, so mix this stuff outdoors, or in a well ventilated area. I put on one of our left of N95 masks, along with gloves while mixing the concentrate. I already wear glasses, and forwent the safety glasses, however I would suggest wearing some eye protection. (If it smells this strong, you don’t want this stuff splashing into your eyes.) You need very little of this stuff, roughly 1 ounce to a quart bottle of water. – Yes, this is a 32:1 mix of water to concentrate, so this bottle is going to last a long time.

I mixed it in a quart squirt bottle to make application easier, and less messy. Every 5-6 days, I squirt a little on a disposable shop towel, and wipe between this toes & pads, and then let hit dry. It’s super easy to apply doing it this way, and a less likely to spill this mixed solution.

We’re just glad that we found something that actually prevents the infections, as opposed to treating it every few weeks.

This worked really well. I tried everything to stop my cat from scratching himself . He eventually had open wounds. Researched and found this. Did three Dips and all of his wounds healed and it helped him a lot! Still have lots left too. Beware it does stain things, towels, flooring, clothing . Stinks like egg farts bad! Ventilation is good doing this. The smell will not come out of towels you use for this task.

I don’t totally understand why it works but I was ready to try anything and for this price I thought it was well worth a try. If your cats, which I have, that has itchy skin or ringworm, you have to get this Healthy Paw Life Lime Sulfur Dip!
    It really works!
My cat picked up ringworm and it spread from cat to cat to cat!
And a couple of my cats already had itchy skin from allergies so it made them even more miserable!
I didn’t know what to do until I saw this sulfur dip come up for review so I tried it!
OMG!!! I’m so glad I did!
It’s nice that it’s concentrated so it makes a lot.
And it was easy as it could be to apply to cats if you know what I mean.
I applied it with a wet cloth and made sure I soaked the areas real good.
Having them wear a cone until it’s dry is essential because you don’t want them to lick it when it’s wet. A few days later I applied more until I started seeing results!
The ringworm & scratching went away, and boy am I as relieved as they are!
It can also be used on dogs, horses, livestock, and more.
It’s not sticky so it soaks in well, and for the results it brings it’s a great value for your money.
Just make sure you are in a well ventilated area and where the proper gear, an apron, gloves and protective eyewear.
I’m very happy with this products performance and I highly recommend it to you.

The product works well but it is not easy to use. It doesnt smell amazing but its not terrible. You have to have a cone to keep the dog from licking once its been applied. I believe that it is effective but i feel its difficult to use at home especially on a regular basis. Ive used other sulfer products that are effective and easier to use but may not be as through.

Best Dip for my cat EVER!
The kitty had a horrible ringworm spot(s)
I used 4 bottles and shampoo ( important ) for two months and still use shampoo for prevention.
No oral meds or anything else.
Unfortunately, I don’t have the picture when she had it real bad, and it was practically on the whole back and ears and tale.
All gone, she has very pretty coat, in some places just a bit short.

Ok, so I can NOT rave about this product enough! My roommates dog had such a bad allergy outbreak he started loosing hair! I mean a lot of hair! His skin was scabby and red and inflamed. The itch was so bad he would make himself bleed from the scratching. LINDA, LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING! One application was all it took! After week one you saw the scabbing go away, the skin was no longer red or inflamed, and he felt so much better. After application 2, or week 2, you can see his hair growing back. It’s been 3 weeks and all his hair has grown in. I would keep this on hand always for just in case! Definitely worth the money!

    Now, there are some drawbacks.
    1. The smell is unpleasant.
    2. It can not touch your skin. Use gloves!
    3. It will stain your clothes.

But.. the smell goes away pretty quickly. And it dries pretty fast too. I mean, no different that water. And well, just wear gloves and a barrier over your clothes or wear old clothes when applying.
